The goal with this thread is, from now until release, to post one screenshot every day, including some new content and a lot more action shots than what we've been showing. A few will make their way to ModDB (probably once per week) but this way there's always something to look at even if we go some time without being able to post a full update. If you have requests, feel free to make them.
For December 7th, we have some EotH ships engaging some Dreadnaughts.

Very nice indeed
-
Wow, the same models look so much better in the Sins engine...
-
Very nice looking.

December 8th
The other side of the battle:

There's some overlap on the shield mesh with the dreadnaught, but don't worry about that.

December 9th

-
A Lancer, huh? Very nice...I always liked that ship.
-
Looks a bit bored with no rebel scum fighters to shoot. :)
-
Ah. It is good to see life back on this forum. I'll be keeping up with the nice screenshots.
-
Yeah, I wanna see Coruscant!!
-
Things are bound to wind-up now!
-
Okay you depraved bunch of Imperials, here's your precious Coruscant. This is my first attempt at modifying Sins planets visually, so probably gonna be changed or even redone as we go. I think this is also the first tim we've shown the TIE Bomber, too.
-
Wow, very busy picture.
Is that a couple of MTC's in the upper right? Sorta look like they have that big bootied profile of the MTC in that picture.
-
I had several of every IR ship at that point except Altors, includng MTCs so they should all be in there (the first three ships in the top row are all MTCs). I had an Executor as well, but I was getting attacked by the New Republic a few planets away so it was off dealing with those.
-
Nice picture, got a little of everything in there. TIE Defenders next!! Or one of the new Rebel ships. Or the Empire's superweapon.
-
Oooooooooooooooooooooh, I want a superweapon!!
-
Well, the TIE Defender is a superweapon, so either would be nice.
-
Well, individually I wouldn't say it is, but definitely en-masse they are. Hardest thing on ICW towards the end when facing the remnant is that their fleets will have 20-30 Defenders to blast your ships to pieces by the time you can kill them.

It's Imperial Center thank you very much. Looks epic!
-
I'll talk to Davis about the possibilities of getting a Soverign shot soon, Defender probably won't be done for a while though. Anywho, this is what that Executor I mentioned was off doing while I was taking the Coruscant shot.
-
It's a perfect shot, I mean the Imperial forces guided by the executor chasing those MC cruisers. Reminds me of episode 4 when then Tantive IV was beign chased by the Devastator.
-
Ha ha ha. Run away you stupid fish ships!
-
The beginning of a new particle I've been working on. You may or may not be able to tell what it is.
-
Can't say it trips in my brain.
-
Yeah, I doubt any of you will know what it is until we show it in motion.
-
Tractor beam perhaps?
-
New engine glow perhaps?
BTW, just saw the previous screenshot, and it looks awesome!!

But but...in TIE Fighter I could take down VSDs with only a single Defender.
-
Well yeah, Tie Fighter was specifically designed around the star fighter, it was rather biased towards them and made capital ships much weaker than they should be.
-
Another new and requested thing coming tonight.
-
Alright, the Sovereign wasn't available for comment tonight so instead you're getting something you didn't request, which we've said in the past was cut. It's what I've been working on for the past two days (essay aside). As for the ingame functionality, credit to Lavo for the idea on how to make this thing do what it's supposed to actually do.

-
Is that a Galaxy Gun??????????!!!!!!!!!!!
My day is made.
-
Well, it's sure as hell not a TIE Defender...
-
Well, it's sure as hell not a TIE Defender...
I don't know, could go either way with this mod team. :D
Looks AWESOME!! I want blow up rebel scum!!!
-
Welp the EoTH and NR are going to have a bad day.
-
If you tell me you destroyed Mon Calami with that, you have defiantly made my day. And by the way, what's the small ship in the left corner?
-
I love IT <3 Especally thoes Mon Cal Cruisers
-
I can haz Galaxy Gun? :o
-
If you tell me you destroyed Mon Calami with that, you have defiantly made my day. And by the way, what's the small ship in the left corner?
Those are just the vanilla constructors. I keep having to pull the Space Tug in and out.

-
Despite it being made by the wrong faction, I do like those destroyers.
-
This is something really old, but we've never done anything with it and I thought it was kinda cool. It was taken relatively early on when Davis, myself and either Enceladus or Zer (I can't remember which) were testing out some stuff.
-
I love when two different super ships attack each other it's just brilliant.
-
Die vile space whale!
-
Luckily, we have harpoons made JUST FOR that space whale.
-
I keep forgetting that this mod will allow multi-faction Super ship fights that were impossible in EAW. I'm looking forward to some really high stakes encounters.
-
I REALLY wanna say something about an EoTH SSD...but pretty sure Corey might hunt me down.
-
This one's from Enceladus.
-
I like that shot.
-
Well now that this semester is done I should be able to help Corey get some nice shots.
-
After tonight I should have my new laptop and should be able to get comparable shots.
-
Sorry for the absence guys, just got my new computer, trying to switch stuff over. As you can imagine, 20kbps connections make it difficult to get stuff downloaded properly, but I have it now. New stuff coming soon.
-

You are forgiven.

Alright, you asked for this one...

Glorious
-
Split the Sovereign discussion off into its own topic.
-
Something a little less exciting but more necessary today. This was used as the Light Frigate shipyard in ICW, but for Ascendancy those two come from one shipyard, so it has double duty. It's been given a few model touchups and a reskin by me as well, so you'll be building ships in style.
-
Nice to see where our smaller ships will come from. What's the largest ship that's going to be buildable there? Vics?
-
Technically VSDs would be the size range we'd include for this, but we want Vics to be able to do orbital bombardment. The AI in Sins tends to planet-rush with any frigates that can bombard and ignore defending forces, so we decided it was better to have them as capital ships which could bombard instead of frigates which can't. We may change this at some point.
-

Wait, so VSDs are going to take up capital ship slots? That's interesting. How are we going to keep up with the BACs of the NR??
-
That doesn't leave an awful lot of room for other caps. Isn't there a limit of like 7 capital ships per faction in Sins? Vic, Vic-II, ISD-I, ISD-II, Executor, Sovereign, that leaves only 1 unused slot for something else. And then I assume the galaxy gun would replace the Titan? Or would it be the last slot (assuming I remember correctly in how many Caps you can have) and something else would be the titan?
-
The Remnant was already going to have more capital slots than the other two factions, and they'll be adjusted accordingly for VSDs as well.

We've managed to circumvent this behavior by having just a bombard ability on the frigate instead of the actual bombardment weapon. The frigate at least for the AI can bombard in a way but will prioritize enemy ships first over the planet.
-
I was thinking about doing that but never got around to trying. So it works then?
-
Yeah it works.

Imperial epicness 8=)

Better render of the TIE Defender.

-
Well someone is bound to spam these things now. ::)
-
My pilots will have a decent fight against them
-
It is arrived! This is a glorious day for the Empire.
-
Nice!
-
Codeuser's back to working on some new particles. This is the preliminary hyperspace set made by me and him. Basically, starfield type situation grows in front of the ships and they fly through it, like in the leadup to the Battle of Endor.
-
Sweet! I like it.
-
Another set of more "infrastructural" shots. This time, it's the basic unit icons which I wanted to show since we're going in a slightly different direction with them than you'd be used to from playing Imperial Civil War or even other Sins mods. Basically, the usually perspective views of the ships as icons would look pretty bad with the UI. Instead, with the HUD in general we're going with more simplified monochromatic versions of things. I made all of these icons relatively fast as a proof of concept type thing, so there's likely to be some rescaling/repositioning and maybe a few will be rendered from different angles, but it should give an idea of what we're going for.
-
Very slick, I love the art style for this mod.
-
We've been doing some edits, bur just until we get the new shots here's the CR90 ingame:

EDIT: Wait, did we seriously never post the TIE Defender?
-
Looks awesome :D
-
Neat
-
Nebulon-B, with proper Datamap (unlike most of our stuff atm)

That is one of the best looking models in sins well done
-
Lancer with Data map!
Just for comparison, here's the before:

Indeed, very nice.

Some NR stuff doin' some stuff.

-
I wonder if Star Destroyers have to do emission tests to protect the environment of space...
-
Despite being a rebel scum ship, I do love the look of the Assault Frigate.
-
Lambda today, Alaria tomorrow.

I suggest going to ModDB (http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-ascendancy/images/lambda-shuttle-ready#imagebox) and clicking "view original." I quite like these screenshots.
-
EotH fleet tender/transport, the Alaria. Basically a cargo ship (read: space box) which was also converted for fleet supply duties.

Updated Phalanx
(http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/22/21018/thumb_620x2000/PhalanxUpdate.png)
-
The Phalanx is definitely the most iconic ships you have made for ICW and you've made it even better. Well done
-
Excellent shot, I see the Bu'direch found its way in as well!
-
The Bu'direch always finds a way in. I like to play favourites.
-
god it looks beautyfull.
I can't wait to... kill it. XD
PA forever!(lot of common with IR so i will play it with IR first)
-
Speaking of things the IR has in common with the PA, this may look familiar.
This is the second last Imperial unit to be shown; all that's left is the World Devastator.
-
Very nice ship, It's a shame my neb-b's and y-wings will destroy it.
-

I will enjoy if/when the PA gets into the game harrassing the rebel scum with those behemoths. A few corvettes to swat their fighters, and the Praetor II's can feed on MC's...
-
I think Y-Wings and Neb Bs to destroyb the Praetor may be wishful thinking.
Anywho, Codeuser took this one while testing some particles.

-
Looking good
-
That should add a nice mix to the capital lineup. Most Mods I've played give all Capitals similar stats and similar costs with mainly ability differences. This heavyweight will make gameplay more interesting instead of following the Corvette - Frigate - Capital - Titan mold. I look forward to the variety and different tactics.
-
Love it. Kind of wish the vong were in it just so I could kick their vonduun clad fannies at Borleais, Bastion and Borosk

This is really only the case with the ISDI and ISDII for us, although even then the stats aren't terribly similar.

I think I'm in love!
-
I'm sure a lot of people remember when the first screenshot of the CR-90 saying that the engines were to big the third screenshot of them with the Quasars looks really good. And that the engines don't look as big as they where.
-
Yeah, I changed them a while ago. We had a screenshot up for about 2 hours, but it also had some skin edits that we ultimately decided we didn't like so it got taken down.
-
Gotta love that last pic, seeing rebel scum fleeing for their lives before the might of the Empire never fails to put a smile on my face.
Its also nice to get a better look at the particles, which by the way are phenomenal!

Looks amazing, great work :). Is that a World Devastator in the background?
-
The world devastator looks like you've taken it straight out of the Roque squadron game. That takes me back when I would be destroying them in a V-wing.
-
Glorious
-
It looks so... evil. I love it!

That will be amazing!

New planet texture this time.

Another new planet texture, this time for a new planet type. Polluted planets are relatively rare, however some of the more famous ones classified within this type in the mod are Honoghr, Vulpter and Ord Mantell. This particular one is Vulpter in the Deep Core Conflict scenario.
(http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/22/21018/thumb_620x2000/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire_Rebellio_2014-05-11_16-46-48-16.png) (http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/22/21018/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire_Rebellio_2014-05-11_16-46-48-16.png)
-
Looks interesting.
-
So what is special about these types of planets?
-
I like the way that looks.
So what is special about these types of planets?
Without knowing for sure, just going off Honoghr, I'd bet these types have low resources and very slow culture growth.
-
Ooo, nice looking ones. I wonder how cool stronger contrast would be (now I'm one of those annoying fans screaming for more features :P) https://i.imgur.com/nKA5ayh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PwpKkl0.jpg
-
That's not really a new feature, just a different screenshot. The day/night cycle still exists on these planets, I just took the screenshots from the sides of the planets that were lit up.

Imperial Repair/Resupply platform, now known as the Naval Station. Based off of Naval Station Validusia in the Essential Guide to Warfare.

-
Looks hungry
-
Do the colours of the lights change when the Devastator changes factions?
-
Yeah, those lights are all based on team colour. The furnace/maw part probably will be, too.
-
So who is Red team?
-
Crimson Empire
-
Or High Admira . Teradoc's Crimson Command
-

-
I like the look of these are they going to be fighter deploying station like the Empire of the hands level 1 defense platforms or will they be more like the Golan?
also do you take request for screenshots because I would love to see Bastion with golans and some Star Destroyers
-
I like the look of these are they going to be fighter deploying station like the Empire of the hands level 1 defense platforms or will they be more like the Golan?
That is actually the Naval Station, used to designate which planets are to be "fortress worlds".
-
Mostly correct, we just shifted around the names, so the repair/resupply station is now called the naval station. This is called the command station.
-
Does it offer a command bonus then?
-
It does a lot of things.
-
I'll be really interested to see how exactly you all implement Waffle Wagon's idea within the game limitations.
-
no screen in 10 days?
-
Once we're able to do actual playthroughs, we should be able to do more regular stuff. Until then, I want to avoid posting different pictures of the same stuff too much. Right now Codeuser and I are working on stuff that can't really be shown in parts properly, but should provide a ton to look at when we're ready. We've also been planning something a little more substantial as far as eye candy goes, which hopefully should be ready soon.
-
good things come to those who wait
-
good things come to those who wait
Indeed.
-
We don't usually post stuff still in progress, but we haven't posted anything for a while, so here's a (very) WIP shot of some of the Galactic UI stuff I've been working on. Right now it's the the frames, with revealed planets showing the aurebesh indicator at the side, and unrevealed planets just having that indicator. We're going for a more HUD-y display type, somewhat based on Rakatan starmaps from KOTOR but more miniamlist; when they're done, each type of planet will have the indiacator circles filled with different graphics.
This also gives you an early look at one of the smaller scenarios in the game, Deep Core Conflict. It's a 1v1 scenario, there's 16 planets, one player starts at Eclipse, the other at Khomm.
-
looks sleek and nice. much more neat than the one of default SoaSE
-
Here's a more full view of that scenario, with some updates to the UI
(http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/22/21018/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire_Rebellio_2014-06-09_17-59-49-70.png)
-
That looks fantastic, its almost like a whole new game! The font makes a huge difference, much more Star Wars-y. What is the orange ring near Byss, a black hole?
-
Yeah, that's the black hole model from the base game. IT's what we use for the Deep Core, which is the "Star" in all of our scenarios.

Just got my new laptop so some of our screens might be at a higher resolution. Links only so that this post isn't obnoxious.

Canonically, I'd never use it at full strength. Hit major starbases with it, major cities on enemy worlds just to show them that I'm not to be trifled with, but unless an opponent is truly stupid, won't go destroying entire worlds.

New Alderaan. Give those space hippies somethingnew to cry about.

More new stuff, the Civic Policy Station, AKA the non-Combat Lab. The design being used is a modernized version of the Golan 1 Space Colony, which some of you may recognize from a bunch of Old Star Wars games, as well as as a map prop in ICW (although that's a different model)

That is a great view.
-
Looks a little cleaner than the early screenshot I saw. I love this Skin.
-
Are you naming the planets with the Basic alphabet, or am I just reading the name badly?
-
We've shown a full map screen earlier in the thread. All planet names and types will still be in the real alphabet. Aurebesh characters are only used in graphical effects. What you see in that screen is just the indicator that a p-planet is there. In Sins it was just a little low res sprite of the planet type, we're doing the little broken circles with an indicator inside those (that part isn't done yet) with planets that you currently have vision on getting the little tail like the one in that picture, with the planet type written in it just so there's some variety.

Haven't posted anything for the EotH in a while, so here's the new skin for the Syndic. It was pretty awful before. Still not entirely happy with it, but it matches the Phalanx and Vigilance much better now.

The trade station model.
Usually, I just post the screenshot, but I'm gonna give some other info here. As many of you are probably aware, Sins is a 32 bit program and therefore is subject to some memory limitations. As such, we have to be very careful about optimizing our assets and asset usage. One way we're doing this is by sharing certain things between factions. The main thing here is buildings; instead of having three separate versions of a shipyard, trade station, research stations, etc. This also tends to fit within Star Wars anyways, since the factions aren't from origins as diverse as the base game. There are a few exceptions to this, such as the resupply stations being shared between the Remnant and EotH, with the New Rep and Hapans getting their own. Of course, any factions who were substantially different would get a unique set (ie if we were to do the Yuuzhan Vong)
-
That trade station is going to get a LOT of traffic thats for sure.
-
The New Republic and Remnant are busy fighting each other...

OHHH that looks good.
-
Impressive
-
Just in case people aren't sure, this is the shield impact effect. If you played base Sins, you're probably familiar with the large black meshes that just envelop the whole ship. These are, obviously, blue and more location-specific (the MC80B is just taking a lot of fire there). I'm not really satisfied with it yet so I'll be playing with it more, but I haven't played with programming in Cg before so it'll be a while.
-
The shield looks good none the less, I really like how it fits around the ships frame.
-
looking nice! Want to play already but its best to wait until you guys have finished it! Mod of the year! Keep up the nice work guys 8=)

Completely agree and some games now can be so poor that mods are needed.

so true!!
-
While I must admit that my personal preference would be that shields flare with the colors of the incoming fire, I still like the way you're going more than I do the base Sins method. It's nice to still be able to see the ship while it's under fire... I've had plenty of Sins games where I can't even see the ship, only its shield bubble.
-
Seems like that would be annoying not to see one's ship
-
That's some good work with the shields, the base Sins effect bugs me just a little.
By the way, Corey, I noticed you're bearing the Hapan insignia now (I'm considering such a move). Have you switched sides?

The Empire of the Hand was getting too popular. I'm just a hipster.

The Empire of the Hand was getting too popular.
You think so i'm surprised that there are quite a lot of New Republic fans here. When I started on this site I thought I was the only NR fan, the rest of you lot were EotH or imps.
-
Well, the NR is the stock good guy faction, which can get pretty annoying. Also, the Imps and Hand get all the cool toys.
-
Also, the Imps and Hand get all the cool toys.
Your right about that when I started the team only had 1.3 out and if people remember back then (which some of you should) there was hardly any land units and other than it's fighters being superior to the other factions fighters the only really good units where the Republic SD and the Nebula everything else was quite poor to their comparable classes.
-
Working on updating some engine glows/data maps on the space triangles. Here's the Immobilizer with new engine glows and some hangar lights (Codeuser's likely still gonna go over and redo them, but they're not single-toned small blue dots anymore). Ignore the fact that I was too lazy to pick the correct themes.

I like the smog effect.
-
Way better than the previous version, it looks more like a supercrowded over-used planet now. The haze is really nice.
-
That pic is amazing with the sun just behind the planet. Good work

Looks like prime location to me
-
That is a juicy target for a Galaxy Gun.
-
It's certainly very well done, but I think it's somewhat less detailed than it should be (linked, huge):
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Coruscant-AoTCW.jpg
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Nar_Shaddaa_TOR_new.png
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Tarisfull.jpg
Coruscant is definitely the most familiar-looking ecumenopolis. Things which I think make it look more plausible are noted: some of the circles have varying thickness, they have smaller circles and lines radiating in a crater-like fashion, some circles are tangent to each other, lines are typically short. Finally the contrast is much lower, and there are random smatterings of buildings just as bright as the rings.
I definitely love the smog. It's a nice touch, especially for places like Metellos, Skako and Vulpter.
-
If you were able to see it more closely, there are smaller rings and different series of lights that are just as bright as the circles without being part of the circles (the latter is definitely visible). Also, keep in mind that the Coruscant picture you linked to shows Coruscant in a different way than most other images of Coruscant, since I'm pretty sure it's from the Clone Wars Cartoon; one which doesn't actually translate very well ingame when you try to replicate it, since UV stretching/seams tend to be more pronounced and there's a lot more negative space.
http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130908205521/starwars/images/1/16/Coruscant-EotE.jpg
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130123002137/starwars/images/8/84/CoruscantGlobeE1.png (Episode one, looks stupid in execution but in the same vein as the others)
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091019154628/starwars/images/3/34/Spacebattle.jpg
I'm still working on the rings, but while that means there'll be more detail than there currently is I still intend to stick to the movie style over the Clone Wars Cartoon style.
-
Looks fantastic
That is a juicy target for a Galaxy Gun.
Still, I'd prefer to target Mon Calamari if you ask me

The Sith? That's more merciful than they deserve. But there isn't much worse you can do than the Sith, especially the True Sith. The Vong, maybe?

No send them to Korriban to see what the sith will do with them.
Do that and witness how a new dark side cult emerges from Korriban, betraying their Imperial allies and massacring the Jedi on Ossus. Eventually their leader and the new Imperial Majesty would reveal his secret identity to be A'Shar... Jar Jar Binks!

The thought of it is terrifying enough.

Nooo, no korriban imagine if some idiot sith decides to take a gungan as apprentice? There result would be some sort of Darth Binks hahahaha
-
Move all the Gungans to Centerpoint, make them live in Glow Town, and then fire the damned thing at Naboo just to make sure.
Just never, ever let one into the control room. It'd somehow end up being the next thing the system imprints on after it falls face-first onto the control panel by tripping over itself because a hack writer would find it funny.
-
Move all the Gungans to Centerpoint, make them live in Glow Town, and then fire the damned thing at Naboo just to make sure.
Why not just take all the gungans onto a ship then kick them out the airlock into naboo orbit then blow up the planet. And see how many bodies are still intact afterwards.

it's too risky I say we pulled back and nuke the site from orbit... It's the only way to be sure kudos if you get what that's from

That'd be killing the people of Naboo too. I mean, not like that's a great loss or anything, but it kinda makes us look bad.

That looks good it makes the empire look like they have there strength back.
By that I mean with the Neb and assault frigates being destroyed by the star destroyers.

Dunno, looks like they are pretty badly outnumbered to me...

The Imp's lancers pretty much wiped out the New Republic's fighter advantage, which let the Imps pick off the frigates one at a time.

That awkward moment when you are the only Imperial ship in a Rebel system...
Not NECESSARILY a bad thing. If say, you're onboard a Sovereign SSD and they have no capital ships in that system...
-
Nah, no capital ships is a waste of a Sovereign... you want just a handful without a ton of fighter support, so you can blast one or two and let the others flee to spread a tale of woe and terror, and of course your supreme power.

It's much more fun to watch them flee, interdict them, then set and slowly pound them mercilessly while they scream in horror.

Eh, the Quasar design always was rather ugly - not much the team can do about that and stay true to it. Really, really liking the Assault Frigate model though.

Ugly, but highly functional for its purpose.
And the Assault Frigate is indeed gorgeous.
-
Is it me, or the models look a bit different from the EAW ones? are you guys redoing them?
-
They look different to the EAW models because 1. It's not EAW and 2. Most of the units ingame were not in EAW.
-
They have changed the look of a few ships, making them different than what they have in the EaW mod... So yeah, if you were referring to the one I think you are, they have created a new model/thing.
-
I've had a super hectic month which has prevented much from being posted, but here's a few screenshots of some Imperial stuff in anticipation of the trailer coming out. There's three, so make sure to check out each one.
I'm going to do a quick rundown of progress and what remains to be done later tonight.

-
Very nice! Imperial Might for the win!
-
Those are Carracks yes? Did I miss a news thing about them having a new skin?
-
Their model was super old and inefficient, so as part of our ongoing attempts to optimize stuff, Slevered did a complete overhaul on the mesh (it's now one third of the polygons while still looking better) and a new skin.
-
Very lovely indeed
-
Yes, very good looking. Amazing how you guys can keep imroving the models yet making them smaller at the same time.
-
It is always a pleasure to see the workhorse type warships like the Assault Frigate and Carrack Cruiser receive the attention they deserve.
-
Hey, Carracks are pretty cool. They deserve it.
-
Useful too
-
Yes, very good looking. Amazing how you guys can keep imroving the models yet making them smaller at the same time.
The model was super old, and had a lot of geometry in places you'd never actually see, plus some edges were bevelled for some reason, using twice as many vertices/polies to do the same thing. Similar to the issues we addressed with the Clawcraft, BAC, and a ton of other stuff recently.

That does give a much better impression of the scale of the Executor than EaW can.

And unlike EAW the SSD are not spinning around in circles with their backs to the enemy.

Amazing

It's been quite a while since the last "daily" screenshot ::)
can't wait for more epicness ;)

My last significant assignment for school is due monday, so after that when I'm not at work pretty much all of my free time is gonna be spent on the mod until it's done, so you'll get an assortment of pictures and maybe even Let's Plays.

Hope you do well on your assignment :) and a beta Let's Play will be freaking awesome XD

But honestly, looking good.

I like the new icons. :)

You have the empire of the hand logo for your profile picture, which allowed alien races into their faction.
Also that's good work.

Looks promising
-
Neat idea, but -10% allegiance for +10% culture spread rate is a trade-off exactly nobody is going to make, you know :P
-
We're nowhere near putting actual numbers for any tech. At this point all we're doing is putting the tech in. You don't play with balancing levers until all of the levers are in place.
-
Ok, fair enough.
-
Neat idea, but -10% allegiance for +10% culture spread rate is a trade-off exactly nobody is going to make, you know :P
True, but change the ratio to 1:2 and it becomes tempting. 1:3 would probably be too much.
-
The new faction select setup, complete with all the information you need to make an informed decision about who to play. The other three factions still need to be added.

-
That looks amazing, and certainly different from base Sins. Feels like a whole new game.
Now, I've heard that the engine can support as many as ten playable factions (for example, the Interregnum mod which is working on having two Imperial and Rebel sides each on top of the original six). Are there plans to add a seventh (or eighth, ninth, or tenth) faction down the line?
-
There really aren't many unique factions beyond the 6 we're already doing. We're never going to do multiple versions of the same faction like the base game, that would just be a waste of space.
-
(for example, the Interregnum mod which is working on having two Imperial and Rebel sides each on top of the original six).
I like how there are multiple SW mods either out or coming for Sins, yet all are distinct enough to feel very different from each other. I've played the Interregnum alphas, which seem to be coming along quite nicely, but doing so hasn't decreased my anticipation for Ascendacy a bit. :)

I haven't checked out most of them (with hte exception of Sins of a Galactic Empire), might have to look at a couple others. I know I have been playing a lot of Star Trek Armada 3 mod recently. Overall a well done mod for the Star Trek universe although still a lot of bugs.
-
Pellaeon, Thrawn and I'm guessing Daala. Are they somehow significant?
-
Pellaeon, Thrawn and I'm guessing Daala. Are they somehow significant?
In a word YES.
-
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Armada 3's expansion next month myself - they seem to be putting an incredible amount of work into it. Interregnum is definitely worth a look, the Empire and Warlords factions are downloadable in the current alpha build and offer similar but distinct play styles. It's based on a storyline the mod's main author created where the Sins races flee their galaxy and end up invading the Star Wars one just before the Battle of Endor, so it involves the base Sins factions as well as Star Wars ones. It requires the Enhanced 4X Mod (a worthy mod in its own right that helps flesh out and expand differences between the Sins factions), authored by the same person and included with the Interregnum download. SoGE I've had plenty of fun with, but it's been feeling a bit dated for a while now.

WHile I did enjoy SoAGE for a bit, I never liked how ships moved in it. I remember the Venators always would take off across the screen then power slide to a stop. Didn't like that.
-
Pellaeon, Thrawn and I'm guessing Daala. Are they somehow significant?
Yeah, it's Daala. Those are techs with features related to the characteristics/policies of those particular leaders. Pellaeon Doctrine is a diplomatic tech that removes the racial relationship penalties, Daala Doctrine decreases your relationship standing with other Imperial players very significantly but increases the Allegiance you gain from your culture. Thrawn doctrine provides a passive combat bonus to frigates.
-
You could do one for the emperor something like "Super weapon construction speed increase" Description As the emperor liked using super weapons their construction speed is increased, although after the destruction of alderaan many people feel threatened by this so this slows the rate of culture spread.
-
That could really only be applied to the galaxy gun, which isn't something we want to encourage. Too many of the early IR tests ended with every planet destroyed when we were using the Novalith cannon numbers and cooldowns.
Either way, the whole "leader doctrine tech" idea is going to be significantly revamped after the first version most likely.
-
WHile I did enjoy SoAGE for a bit, I never liked how ships moved in it. I remember the Venators always would take off across the screen then power slide to a stop. Didn't like that.
I don't know that I ever had that happen, but there were some design aspects I wasn't a big fan of overall... for instance, a number of maps were nearly impossible for certain factions to expand in, sometimes directly opposite what one would expect (IIRC, the Vong invasion map for a PC Vong had the Vong starting in a terrible spot as both linked planets had massive defense forces, but your starting forces were still default Sins level). Wasn't a bad mod, had good times with it, but it somewhat had me feeling that I was playing it just because it was the only decently-done Star Wars mod I could find. Sacrifice of Angels 2 I remember giving me the same feeling, though for Star Trek.
Fortunately, we've got new ones coming from proven teams to look forward to for both Stars. :)

Earlier, we showed a picture of the Deep Core scenariom which was small but still accurate. This is a picture from the "Unified Front" 9 player map with 128 planets. Essentially, it has all of the planets from Imperial Civil War not in the Unknown Regions (which will be featured in other maps). This particular screenshot is from the northern third or so of the map, which should look familiar to ICW players. Every planet in the maps is essentially as close to canon positioning as source materials and my desire to retain what's left of my sanity allow.
Keep in mind, the top only looks squished because of the camera angle; that cluster is decently far out.
-
Hello sir. Been following your mod and Thrawns revenge for about a year now,and I've been nothing but stunned with the quality of content you guys produce. I have a couple questions though. First: What is the sound approach you guys deciding to take when it came to ship weapons? For example, the dev for Interregnum decided to have normal turbolasers and ion cannon sounds, but added sounds for a "light" turbolaser class as well. Sins of a Galactic Empire had just normal turbolaser and ion cannon sounds with drastically increased firing times when it came to the ships. I wanna know what approach you guys took. Also, do you guys plan on taking a page out of SoaGE's book and bringing more of a focus to the capital ships? Or will you need to bring an appropriate bag of mixed goodies to the party to secure the win? Just a loyal fan in a thirst for knowledge.
-
I like how spread out the planets and hyperspace lanes are - it seems a bit less choke-pointy than ICW's map, except in places it should be like the very top.
-
Sigh, I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Got it! Please note my graphical settings are at fairly mediocre levels.

I'm a fan of the new graphics. Definitely liking better than the "stock" ones.

Seriously though, what would be the best way to post images in a comment? I intend to start posting alpha/ beta screenshots pretty often.

Photobucket.com
Upload them there, open them, rigth click, copy image location, paste here in the image tags. Make sure theres a .png/.jpg or whatever at the end of the address, otherwise it's not actually the image.

Just an update guys, the worst part of dead week is almost behind me, once I get a chance I am going to start testing more again and taking screenshots. Also, if there's anything specific in Ascendancy you guys would like to see (for instance, a closeup of 12 Carracks doing handstands while firing ion cannons at Quasar-fires), either PM me or just post here
-
YES! Ask Corey's permission if you could for instance record a bit of gameplay, like a fight between an ISD 1 and an MC-80B. I really wanna see how the game sounds and plays

The only problem there is you'd pretty much never see those 2 ships by themselves, they're going to be guarded by support fleets due to the cost of capital ships.
-
I apologize. I didn't totally mean just those two ships. I know they'll have their support vessels. Kinda had one of the first gameplay trailers for EaW going through my head at the time. Just a video of a minor fleet fight or a decent skirmish between one of the factions and a group of neutrals is something I would love to see before beta release on the 18th.

Ok, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Corey ok'd someone to do that, or even just posted one himself.
-
I dunno about videos, but we're allowed to post screenshots. There's not much terribly interesting about the way the game sounds at the moment though.

The result of a galaxy gun projectile impacting Bothawui in retaliation for Bothawui firing a galaxy gun at one of my own planets. (Note, imps are in control of Bothawui because preset starting positions aren't in yet) The Galaxy Gun is a horrifyingly powerful weapon capable of launching planet-destroying warheads through hyperspace. Once the Galaxy Gun projectile has been launched, there is no stopping it, and no saving its target. As to your request Mark, I'm not sure about posting videos, I can ask Corey, though. He's been a ghost the past week or so though, probably on account of finals like the rest of us.
-
That would be great Sir. If I may ask, even with Corey being in and out, are you guys still on schedule for the posted 18th release posted on ModDB?
-
I honestly don't know one way or the other. That'd be something the dev team would be able to answer better than I.
-
I've been really busy so I haven't been able to post much, but I'm still working (as are Slevered and OzWolf). The release date is more of a rough marker since ModDB doesn't allow ranges. It'll possibly be that day, but probably a little after. It was also set when I wasn't working Wednesdays and thursdays, but now my weekend is Sundays and Mondays, so those days are actually more likely.

One of the two last New Republic ships we need to show, the MC30c acts as a heavy torpedo cruiser. It excels at using its proton torpedo launchers to quickly take down structures and large enemy vessels.
-
Cute little ship. Tasty with tartar sauce. :D
-
Is it going to be a capital ship destroyer as it "supposedly" was in EaW or is lighter than that?
-
Those things are not "supposedly" capital ship destroyers. They can absolutely wreck you if you're not prepared.

-
That looks really good.
-
It does, although that'll make it get a bit difficult to tell what fighters you have in your fleets when looking at it from a fleet view. Now 6 fighters on the NR?
-
To answer your question, sort of, while I'm not exactly sure of the role of the MC30c yet as I haven't gotten to play around with it very much, I can tell you that is very heavily armed compared to most of the other light cruisers available to the NR, it vastly outguns the MC40, however it does not carry fighters and comes a little bit later in the tech trees. Torpedo/ conc dps is mostly pretty low in Ascendancy compared to other hardpoints, but the MC30c's torpedo DPS is actually on par with those of its other weapons. Make no mistake, this ship is not going to be in your fleet to act as light fire support with ions, it's there to wreck some shit with turbolasers and proton torpedoes. It also retains its cluster bomb ability from FoC, which iirc can damage up to 8 nearby enemies.
-
Another theme.

What group is that the icon for?
-
It's the PA logo.
-
It's the PA logo.
OH yeah, I was trying to think of which of the factions you've discussed it might be and never occurred to think that it might be one of the IR splinters...
-
It's the PA logo.
I thought you weren't going to do the PA being that most of their units would be Imperial.
-
More icons to mix things up a bit isn't a bad idea - some colors can be hard to tell apart at a glance if they're sharing the same icon, for instance.
-
The icons we put in won't always be playable factions. All playable factions will have their own, but others will be available (like how the Chiss and GA logos are there as pictures)
-
While the main additions for this release are the full-size starbases, it's important not to forget the little ones on the way. The XQ2 Platform functions as the resupply station for the New Republic, so the Hajen doesn't have to do all the repair work.

I love to command PA and even more so if I crush EotH with it. XD
The PA and EotH logos looks gorgeous.
-
Should I be getting excited or should I be patient? I'm getting tired of attacking both the Republic and Remnant.
-
Both. Theoretically save for the fact that we want to redo a fair amount of the designs/models/skins the Empire of the Hand is pretty much where the NR/IR are asset-wise and the PA just needs 5 ships and one station to be at the same point. Since I have Settra helping me with coding now, and Davis has taken over sound design everything is going to be able to go a lot faster.
The difference is, where 0.9 and 0.95 were pretty much just "get the NR/IR in and make sure stuff works how we want it to before we're over committed" we want 1.0 to actually have some level of polish, and that's where a lot of the stuff that's not directly faction related comes in.
-

Exciting stuff guys. That said polish for 1.0 is good news. The mod is fantastic but a couple of layers of polish before release would, I think, put the icing on the cake. Especially from things like a balance perspective. With double the number of factions available balance is going to be harder to enforce. I very much look forward to seeing the route you go down. Take your time because a good 1.0 release even if it takes time will be worth it!
Can't wait to play with the EOTH. A rapid movement civilisation sounds very fun and will hopefully allow a more fluid play style than often encountered with sins.

The Alignment's answer to the Bothan Assault Cruiser and Victory-II, the Procursator is a heavy combat-oriented cruiser which sacrifices some survivability for firepower compared to its counterparts.

I actually really look forward to these. 300 meter larger than a VSD-II, should be downright beefy for a cruiser.

Indeed. I am really hoping that with a smaller less powerful Titan we see some excellent cruisers. Really torn between Alignment and EotH based on current looks and how the factions are turning out.

Most impressive indeed

Oh, there's a TON of other ships behind them, I just moved those 3 out to show only those 3. That fleet was a good sized fleet (12 VSD-I, 10 Vindicator, 6 Venator, 8 Munificent, 4 Acclamator, 10 fleet tenders, 5 Secutors, 3 ISD-I's and the Bellator).

Beautifully put together then, until the NR sends a fleet of 50 assault frigates of course.
-
Meh, assault frigates die fast enough that it won't destroy that fleet due to their pitiful turbolaser damage (although early game, yes, the AF is fantastic because it doesn't need corvettes to escort it, and in larger numbers can threaten even capital ships). It's the 50 BAC's you need to be terrified of.

I can imagine.
Ah... I so can't wait to get my hands on a Bellator. No matter if it's in Ascendancy or ICW.

Are you referring to ICW or Ascendancy, because I have ICW down to a formula and the NR isn't that much of a threat (except for their BACs, so hence stay in Era 1) in Ascendancy however, they mix the two for devastating effects. Usually I can overpower them but the problem is that they send them early in the game.
-
Ascendancy, no limit (other than fleet and command) to fleet sizes.
The AI does love to bring AF's early, but they can easily be defeated if you use the right ship complements. Doesn't even require many ships. The only irritating thing about the AF in terms of defeating them is the jedi clone trick with them. Makes their fleets look AMAZINGLY large. However, they're not very effective against combat ships overall, and their greatest danger is their fighters, which the clones don't spawn quick enough to be a threat. Rarely does the AI use the AF in a support fashion where it truly shines. A few AF's with a MC-80/MC-80B and a fleet commander and they actually become quite deadly in the early game.
-
So nothing that's not already in the public beta (I think), but cool shots nevertheless since there hasn't been any posts for a while.
First, the planet Jerelec with full infrastructure dedicated to arming the fleet. And lightly defended itself (if you're counting, that's a titan facility, 3 capital facilities, 4 Frigate facilities, 3 Golan III's, 2 Golan II's, and 3 Golan I's).
Second, a fairly decent sized fleet (~50 ships, Sovereign, 4x ISD-II, Praetor FC, ISD-I FC, ISD-I, Altor, 5x VSD-I, 3x VSD-II, 7x Dreadnaught, 10x Strike-Cruiser, 10x Lancer, 5x Escort Carriers, 2x Immobilizer 418), with of course the up close and personal on the Sovereign.
-
I love that in Ascendacy ships are in thei "true" size, seeing a sovereign in comparison with ISD makes me realize why it was a very useful psicological weapon
-
Nevermind the Sovereign, just look at the Executor class next to the Praetors to truly see colossal!
-
Not a huge difference. 1.6 < 15 vs. 4.8 < 19. While it is a slightly larger difference, percentage-wise much smaller difference. Although at 15 km vs. 19 km, they're both gargantuan. Very little difference when you see them on the screen at the same time.
-

I know executor is way larger, it's just that sovereing looks more massive, while executor seems thiner.
While writing this I was thinking, will mankind ever do something like that I mean I'm sure it won't be today, nor tomorrow and I'll be dead and won't see it but let's say in a thousand years are we going to rule the galaxy with gigantic super ships or something as cool as that? Just wondering hahaha

Well, even in the Star Wars universe the Dreadnoughts were short lived as anything other than defensive vessels. By the legacy era dreadnoughts were basically extinct (although I'm sure KDY still kept some setting around in defense of it's shipyards, as that's what the Mandator I was designed for, simply defending KDY holdings during the Republic).
-
Assuming that kind of space travel or interplanetary/interstaller civilizations ever become a thing, it's not terribly unreasonable that we might someday make spaceships that big, whether for commercial, military or civilian purposes. The largest naval ships we have are already about a third the length of ISDs (mostly oil tankers, with military vessels being a 6th)
-
And we're having like Star Wars. While at the end of WWII big Battleships were the future of naval warfare, the US no longer has any active Battleships, they've all been replaced by smaller, faster, more maneuverable missile cruisers and gunboats.
-

Even at the end of WW2 the battleship had been made obsolete. Light cruisers, destroyers and carriers formed the modern battlefleet and all 3 types of ship had proved to be truly flexible and formidable in battle!
Submarines but the final nail in the coffin of a battleship and in the 60s when Nuclear submarines came along they become the "modern battleship".
-
Bigger isn't always better. Big guns gave way to aircraft and long rsnge missiles. Battleships were awesome and always have an awe about them but their days as central units of a fleet are long past sadly.
-

Indeed you are right, but that's here on the ground (or sea) space might be way different, you might just need to make a flying city with guns to make it suitable for large trips and conquest, and that means something big
-
The problem could come down to the same as the dreadnoughts though. While big, heavily armed, they were simply so slow that they could be defeated by smaller ships that could easily outmaneuver them.
-
I get the feeling that slow in space isn't that slow actually, it's pretty fast, and besides if you have a bigger ship you can have a bigger engine and that means faster and also you can carry more fuel, while a small ship would be suitable for garrison and a short range of action, I belive that big ones are required for larger trips, just my opinion
-
Doing some testing tonight, so figured I'd post this screenshot of the IR fleet having an "oh, fooey" moment.

Dominator Star Destroyer
-
I'm guessing you fixed that the Dominator didn't inderdict that you bothered building one.
-
Nah, PA and EotH abilities (except for some of the more obvious ones) are after tech. When I'm working on stuff, I build based on what I need to test or get a screengrab of, which in this case was the Dominator model.
The Interdiction ability is something I still want to rewrite.
-
Ah, makes sense then. I'm starting to enjoy the EoTH with how far you've got it. Other than the obvious issue of Syndic still being significantly more powerful than the Phalanx, they're feeling much like the IR & NR were when we first started alpha testing. And I adore their interdictor in this game. Never really cared about it in ICW, but in Ascendency, it is a pure joy.
On an utterly random note, I hate the new look for github.

Triangles of death!
-
Very true, but at least a few different triangles than the norm!!
I can't quite grasp the Secutor yet. For some reason, despite it being a carrier, the AI likes to take and fly into the middle of the enemy fleet with them. I'll have every capital ship setting back firing, except the Secutors that fly forward into the middle of the enemy. Needless to say, I lose a lot of Secutors.

Muni's are much more important in this game than in ICW too. They're by far the best overall frigate for the PA, although they're going to need some balancing. At this point they have the same fleet cost as a VSD-I, while not carrying any fighters, and having significantly less firepower (although they do good ion cannon damage, so strip shields quick, which VSD-I's can't do). But then, basically nothing to do with the PA or the EoTH has even looked at balancing, so this isn't in the least bit surprising.

In what way? When you start getting a good number of fighters, they can be quite destructive. I was playing a game as the PA last night, and my bombers stripped the shields of a ISD-I in a SINGLE PASS because I had so many of them.
-

Exactly. Once you reach a certain mass of bombers no amount of fighters will stop them. Ie fighters do not "intercept" bombers so much shoot at them as they move. Due to the size of gravity wells and the speed of fighters it makes it very difficult to stop bomb spam with equal (or even greater) numbers of fighters. You need to use anti-fighter escorts. At that point why bother with fighters at all. Just anti-fighter frigates and combat ships with a good mix of support ships. Winner.
-
No, I've found if you have decent fighters (not Tie Fighters), they do a fairly decent job. In a giant battle my Interceptors were definitely keeping the bombing runs to a minimal on my ships (2 fleets of ~50-60 ships each side; fighter:bomber ration on my fleets is close to 1:2), and I experienced only minimal losses due to their heavy frigates and caps combining fire on my poor nearly defenseless Dominator cruisers.

Hmmm. Well I've played Republic in this game more than Imperial and all I can say is that the Republic almost inevitably seem to lose the fighter battle in anything other than a knock out situation. Tie Interceptors coupled with the sheer number of squadrons + so much larger supply mean you really do struggle. This is only exasperated by the fact that Sins doesn't seem to support shields on fighters so republic craft simply cannot be as strong as they should be.
-
I'm sure Corey&Co have drastically upped the health points of the NR & EoTH fighters to make them significantly more durable than the IR/PA ones. I've played a lot as the NR, and while it is harder to win through military, that's as it should be. The NR had a much smaller focus on that, but I've never noticed that IR bombers were able to wreck my fleets, it's those freaking ISD-II's w/ VSD's supporting them that usually trash my ships. In my experiences their bombers are quite decently contained by my fighters. But that's my experience, and why Corey's going to be having more people testing (not trying to sound cocky, but I'm rather good with the NR in this game, which is why everyone ganged up on me when we recorded the very first multiplayer) to get the balancing right.

Fair enough. Well I'll try using the fighter ratio you talked about. Also how carrier heavy do you go in terms of warships. How many of your capitals do you use as carriers vs the carrier cruiser? If you don't mind me asking is the A-wing always better than the X-wing or does it depend? I assume in Sins the Y-wing is a flat out bomber rather than bomber/fighter. Sorry for the 20 questions. Just keen to get some knowledge from a NR player as NR/EoTH will be the 2 races I probably end up playing the most.
-
OK, for the Alliance, I go completely differently. Ships that have any of the "elite" ships I build them (K-Wing, E-Wing). Of ships that have basic A-Wing, X-Wing, Y-Wing, B-Wing I will go 1:1:1 A-Wings:X-Wings:B-Wings. I will not build Y-Wings once I have researched the B-Wing, it's simply too slow and is absolutely chewed to PIECES by Interceptors. So if a ship has only X or Y, I build X's always. Then offset by building a bunch of B's in another ship.
Carriers, as the PA I spam them like insane, like a full 25% of the entire fleet (between Acclamators, Venators, and Secutors). But currently, they get no elite bomber, so I'll probably back off once they get that. For the NR, I do ~15%-20% carriers.
As far as the A-Wing vs. X-Wing, the answer is maybe. If you're going against enemy fighters, the A-Wing is always superior to the X-Wing. Yes, it has less weapons, but it's faster and more maneuverable so actually harder to kill. If you're trying to take out ships, then the X-Wing is always superior, as it has proton torpedoes instead of concussion missiles, so does more damage (legends-wise, in the game I just assume this is still the case).

Muugnificent XD

Best part of the Muni (as it stands, balancing could always change it) is that it's moderately affordable early on (doens't cost much tibanna), and pretty good power for their price.

When the AI sends 258 Lancers at your face. Also, some Immobilizer love
-
Last week triangles this week blue and yet i'm still shocked and thankful I don't see fleets like them.
-
This has nothing to do with the picture itself, but how do you know there are 258 lancer frigates? haahahah
-
I zoomed out and looked at the enemy fleet counter for the planet

Pic I took of an Imperial fleet shortly after slagging the planet.

Nice, yeah I posted it there maybe a week ago, thought it may be enjoyed in this thread as well. :)

Since we've had so many action pics, here's a slightly before the action pic, with the Alignment heading into battle.

Triangles for days

One or 2, yeah. :D Exactly, that fleet contains:
1 Bellator dreadnought
2 Praetor-II battlecruisers
2 Secutor star destroyers
4 ISD-II's
1 Dominator star destroyer
8 Procursator star destroyers
10 Victory-I star destroyers
10 Venator star destroyers
10 Vindicator heavy cruisers
10 Munificent-class star frigates
5 Arquitens
5 Star Galleon class fleet tenders
-
Yes, run little frigates!

Nice pics. I really must stop saying I'll get Sins and actually get it lol
-
you really should.
It is fun
-
It wouldn't be the first time I'd seen someone buy Sins just to play Ascendancy, but honestly Sins is a worthy game in its own right.

That I'd disagree with. Unmodded sins is a complete and utter bore, with no originiality or thought to the abilities. The game designers couldn't have been more than 5, because everyones "research" is identical, and so it's useless to even have it in the game.
-
To each their own. I enjoyed it a great deal.

I was always impressed with the Battle Dragon design. So attractive.

And Song of War is even better because it's red.

Nice shot. Also something that should be fixed: the Chimaera should be using an ISD-2 skin, no?
-
Got rofled stomped by an Executor and support fleet taking out a border planet before I could field ISD2s. I kept running out of durasteel and forgetting I'm not the NR I can't rely on the black market.

How does one hide the UI when taking screenshots? Been toying around with it but not really sure what to do.

I think for me it was ctrl-shift-z

Let's restart this thread!

is it just me, or is there really an issue with the picture?
I can only see a picture icon.

I can only see a picture icon.
That would be embarrassing, I posted another picture. But I took it down as soon as I posted it, so maybe that's what happened. The picture still shows up for me I think
-
I'm getting a 404.

It shows for me. You may just have it protected somehow.

Yeah I can't see it either.

Really? i see it just fine

NOW I SEE IT!

i guess
nice screenshot FYI

Alright I'll post another screenshot in a different matter and then see if that works at that point

Okay I did something a tad bit different, if that doesn't work I know what to try next.
Anyway this is my personal "flagship" (a CC victory) looking over a mothballed fleet over Mygeeto. I call it the boneyard, if you get that reference message me.
-
it seems OK.
-
Yeah, I see the second one, still don't see the first.

Attempting to run away? What a silly thought

Such an old, terrible ship, destroy it!
-
Now that we're on the screenshotting topic, has anyone had problems screenshotting the galaxy map? I can screenshot ships just fine but the screenshot is really messed up when I try to zoom out and capture the map. I was trying to create an interactive map I could upload to a website.
-
Messed up how?
-
PA ships are too freaking beautiful, plz nerf Ansel Hsiao. I've always loved the Venator's design, and with the Secutor, Praetor, and Bellator, I just have way too much eye-candy; I literally can't micro because I keep zooming in and salivating over them, which is quite a serious balancing issue. If we could somehow get the Assertor Star Dreadnought (I don't even care if it was just the model with no weapons or hull), I'd be PA for lyfe. Just hand-wave and say Kaine wanted to pimp his ride and ditch the boring Executor :D It's not even cool anymore, like, everyone has an Executor but at least Daala's is black lol.
Also, I feel like you guys shouldn't have made the EoTH Peltast, now the other EoTH ships just make me want to cry ;D I guess it was two different artists who worked on the initial roster and the later Peltast; very different design choices. EoTH's strikecraft are to die for, however, simply gorgeous and a shame since you forget to zoom in on SC most of the time.
Love the IR's Allegiance reskin, looks stunning; I think the World Devastator could use one as well, or maybe just deviate from the Rogue Squadron design since, to be perfectly honest, whoever made that model wasn't a very talented designer (great game though); and I wish we could've picked some other ship than the Torpedo Sphere because it's a Torpedo Sphere, and it doesn't matter how cool the lore is if the designer just said "how about a hard-boiled egg that bombs planets? ayylmao muh concentric rings of proton launchers doe, das creative"
-
Here are some of mine.
-
Played ICW this morning, and some Ascendency this evening. Built a fleet that might have been just a LITTLE bit overkill for the size of the galaxy I was playing on.
