Probably better to just tweak ground combat to make it as enjoyable as possible.

It was also require an income rebalance. Transfering income from mining/taxes to space stations/ trade platforms (similar to AOR I suppose).

Space-only GCs would essentially mean we require two full sets of planets, and two full sets of GCs.
And a whole lot more unit-locking to prevent the AI free-spawning ground units it can't use.

Personally I was always more of a fan of the ISDs - level of ship sizes, (appropriately like Thrawn was, I suppose).

Its easier to apply the appropriate level of force across a front that way, rather than having just one doomstack - of in this case superweapon-stack I suppose.

I do like Allegiance/Tectors/Praetors for Flagships though.

Do any of you actually enjoy using these superweapons? I always thought that the Death Stars were a bit silly for gameplay. It was always "auto-win" whenever I built one.
I agree, which i why im glad that icw only has destroyable ships

space combat is an interesting suggestion, but galactic campaign which included supper weapons should be awesome too.
empire could use all super weapons in legends: World Devastators, Death Star, Eclipse, Galaxy Gun and Sun Crusher.
Rebels also could use super weapons: troops supply ship, starfighter supply ship and suicide ships (like in episode VIII).

Ye, I can imagine Galaxy Gun in this setting. It would have less impact but still handy to have.

This would be very interesting. However, it might require a lot of work. Significant balance changes would probably be required.

I don't see many that would have to be done, just credit income problably.

Perhaps a compromise with only some key worlds having land (with very polished maps) would be better. In the lore, we often hear about battles with no land component.

Good time of day, is it feasible/possible to make the whole conquest scenario with only space combat?
- Like planets having only spots for space stations?
- Sometimes ground combat can get really boring and you might say what's stopping me from auto-resolving this, well the resources and defending planets only with fleets.
- The Hapes Consortium and the DL might be emphasized in this scenario more than in usual conquest since there is no need for ground unit roster.
- Planets might have higher recourse value per week, since there is no chance for mining facilities etc., or some kind of resource space stations.
