Making a copy of the data folder as I described is sufficient and less memory-intensive.  But yes, messing with the folders directly is the only way to have both installed.

There is one way, but only for the retail version and it is very space consuming.(maybe gog version works too, but I am not sure)
Basically you have to start with a fresh install of EaW+FoC
You have to copy paste the whole Forces of Corruption folder which means gigabytes of data, and then install the AotR onto that one. That is the only way.
For steam it does not work since then steam does not recognize it as the Forces of Corruption

To be fair you guys probably have to answer this question at least once a week   :)

So Its impossible to play both without making adjustments to the files?  ???

Will try it in the future but at the minute im happy with ICW. but then again when have we ever been happy with what we got haha

Largely because he's been dealing with similar questions for years, I imagine. ;)

If you want to have both AotR and ICW installed at the same time, it is doable, but requires you to maintain two corruption/data folders - one modified by the AotR installer, one that wasn't.  Here's a step by step:

1) Start with a clean install of EaW+FoC.
2) Go into the corruption folder, make a backup copy of the Data folder - call this "Backup data" for now (don't actually use quotation marks, I'm just using them for clarity).
3) Install AotR through its installer.
4) Rename your current data folder "AotR data".
5) Rename "Backup data" to "data".

At this point, your game is set to use the vanilla data folder, and will be compatible with ICW or most other mods.  If you want to play AotR from this point:

1) Rename "data" to "backup data"
2) Rename "AotR data" to "data"

To get it back to vanilla or ICW compatible:

1) Rename "data" to "AotR data"
2) Rename "backup data" to "data"

Hopefully you can see how this works.  You'll need to swap the folder names every time you decide to change which mod you are playing - if you get them mixed up, a little trial and error with starting the game will figure out which folder is supposed to be which, but it's annoying to do this so try not to get them confused.

Try the other bits first. If it doesn't crash after you've done that stuff, then let me know and we'll take it from there.

Right Ok

Not the best with computers (probably the worst actually) how would I go about fixing the RAM? Sorry for the stupid questions

AotR installs AI files that are likely interfering with ICW. Go into your corruption/Data folder and delete the folder named XML, and, if it's there, the Scripts folder as well. You may ned to reinstall the RAM fix (AotR overwrites the file that installs to the XML folder of your base game, which could be what's causing your launch problems.

Not that it should matter that much, but ICW 2.1(.5) or ICW 2.2 Demo?

Also, steam, gold pack, or retail?

Hi Guys

New to the forum and hoping someone can help me.  Love playing ICW but wanted to try Awakening, installed awakening and it runs fine but now ICW refuses to load. I get the initial loading screen then its crashes and becomes unresponsive. I have tried to just wait it out but no no avail.

Also on another note in some other mods i have the AI has become messed up and either stays still and doesn't attack or simply runs back to its base and wont move. again i think it is because of the New Awakening.

Can someone help?

Thanks
