Although I personally would have loved to see the Bellator (The idea of a weaker/smaller but much faster Executor just sounded good to me) I still think the Sovereign class is an awesome addition.

I think the role of a "1v1 me fgt" ship is a great idea, from the sounds of things it appears the Remnant will almost be a "Quantity over quality" faction, so this could make it an excellent counter depending on how the enemy builds their fleets.

Well, being "quantity over quality" would be keeping in line with the IR mantra for the time period, so makes sense.

Is it possible to make the gravity well generator increase the radius of the planets gravity well since that would make the generator ability more realistic?

But what will it spawn if you use the Mass Effect ability?  Krogans?  Turians?  I'm hoping it brings some Geth.  :D

I bet the reapers will come, anyway not that they can beat the empire anyway. I bet Corey started playing mass effect ahaha so yeah the name makes reference to the mass effect fields from mass effect

So how exactly will interdiction wok anyway? Will you be able to pull in ships that are already warping away from the planet?
No this is impossible within SoaSE. You cannot interrupt a ship already in a jump.

4. Mass Effect
Overcharges gravity wells to pull ships in a radius towards it, as well as pull aggro to itself, damaging itself in the process. Name is also a reference to something, points if you can figure out what.

Alright, I meant to respond to this thread a while ago but for some reason I always forget how much releasing the mod sets me back.

Anywho.

Does Sins support the ability to make a planet go from livable to unlivable?  If so, they could certainly make it usable against planets.

As Rovert said, the Galaxy Gun and something else will already fill the planet destruction role. The Sovereign currently has three/four abilities planned.

1. Superlaser (Ship target):
This does pretty much what you'd expect. There will cease to be a ship wherever the targeted ship was.

2. Superlaser (Planet target):
This will be a really effective siege ability with some extended effects.

3. Interdiction.
Because gravity wells.

Anyway, even without the super laser, it's the second stronged imperial ship and that's more than enough to destroy an entire fleet all by itself, in EaW with the hardpoint system it would take ages because lots of turbolaser end up hitting something that was already destroyed but (I haven't tried Sins yet) if this game has a different and more "realisitc" system, it would make it more destructive

Well, it's the strongest in terms of how much damage it can do because of the insta-kill of 1 ship.  The Executor actually has more weapon emplacements so does more "traditional" damage.

Eclipse isn't in the game (or at least wasn't last I checked). Here's my question: will the Sovereign's superlaser be able to be used on planets too?
Those are bad news, it's acutally the empire strongest ship, anyway with the galaxy gun, shadow hand operation would have been overkill

Yes you can make a planet uncolonizable that lasts forever though that might be a bit game breaking and unbalanced if it's essentially doing the same as the Galaxy Gun.
