I have 225 also, thought i was near the end, and the game just hangs, no victory no nothing. last attempt months ago, i had a new admiral (twin to Luke's girl) stuck on some planet far north, but inaccessible, as in zero planets all around....i believe the version i did was era 1-5, using rebels, 100 planets. so basically, all that gameplay and i'm stuck. already took out the Imperial leadership.

I have the Gold Edition Retail Disk.

When I downloaded the patch it was a .rar file. When I unzipped it using 7zip it had a file named(Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption). Inside was a new Data folder, a new EAWXLauncher.exe, a new PerceptionFunctionG.dll, and a new swfoc.exe

I have tried to replace these files in my original Foc file. I also tried replacing the entire Foc file with this new file and moved all the files that were not the same as the new files with the files from my original Foc. Neither worked. Any ideas.

It should just run like any other installer. What version of EaW do you have?

Hello,
would someone be willing to explain more in depth how to download and apply that patch(https://www.gamefront.com/files/foc-vista-patch/download). I have tried a couple of times but it doesn't work. I think I'm following the instructions from the patch maker, and I just tried Slyguy3129's instructions, but neither work. At the same time, I am not sure that I completely understand either instructions.

I have been trying to play Thrawn's Revenge for a week now and keep getting the Exception Error. I have tried everything like changing the compatibility mode, downloading the official update and 4ram patch, and uninstalling and reinstalling both the game, patch or both. I have the Gold edition retail disk if that helps. It looks like this vista patch will help, but I can't get it to work. Any help with the patch or any other ideas to fix the mod would be greatly appreciated.

Also, thank you to all the developers for making such a great mod. I have seen other people play it and can't wait to play it for myself.

Well this is funny. Just my luck, and my day. So I uninstalled FoC, and went to get the second CD out of my CD holder. Went to install it, entered the CD key, and kept getting an Invalid CD key. Noticed on the very end of it an "EAW" written in pen. It was the CD key for EaW, not FoC. That is when I realized somehow I've lost my FoC CD Key. You see, I cut the CD Key off the manual, and put it on top of the CD in my CD sleeve, so that I can always keep up with it. Some how, I've now lost it. Found a CD Key online, and installed FoC, then patched it to 1.1. Then I went to run the game because Mods folder was not present, and usually you need to do that once for it to appear in most cases. Got the same Exception Error that was preventing the mod from running. Absolutely lost my shit for about 5 minutes, went and had a cigarette, and while I was outside, browsed the internet for FoC Exception Errors on Start up. Turns out there is a "Vista" patch that makes the game run on systems with 64 bit. Finished my smoke, downloaded the "patch", copied it to the Directory, and FoC 1.1 would run. Then just for shits and giggles, I pasted it into my Original ICW 2.25 folder that I created at first attempt, just to see if by some blind stupid luck, that would fix it. It did.

So now I've got the mod working, but have lost my CD key. I really hope it didn't fall on the floor and I vacuumed it up. I really hope I can find it.

Thanks for the reply Corey. Perhaps in the future include in the readme that if having Exception Errors try installing the "Vista" patch for the game? Hopefully it will save someone else the headache I've had the last few days troubleshooting this.

Thanks for all the work you and your team has put into this mod! Now without further delay, I'm going to dive into TCW2.25!

EDIT: Including a Link to the "Vista" patch. https://www.gamefront.com/files/foc-vista-patch/download

Nope. Moving the mod's folder into the Mods folder still makes a prompt pop up. And the same error occurs when running the batch file. Same message from Windows SmartScreen pops up as well.

EDIT: Going to uninstall Forces of Corruption only, then reinstall it. To see if that will fix it.

Well the batch files doesn't do anything when I run as Administrator. Going to try and cool off, maybe for a day or two, and take a fresh troubleshooting attempt then. Stupid little issues like this really boil my blood and cloud my judgment and thought process.

Edit: Just had an idea. I'm going to try moving the mod's folder into the Mods folder instead of copying it. Maybe that will work? I hate all the prompts you get from Windows when you try and copy paste a folder. "Windows needs to do such and such bull to do what you ask it to: Allow, Some other option that means No, Cancel" .

SIGH That did not work either. I guess I could try and move the Republic at War files out of the mod folder and try that. Though that really shouldn't be a problem since they are isolated in their own folder in the Mods folders. But it really does appear to be something wrong with the mod itself. I wonder if it has something to do with Windows not wanting to run the batch file the first time I try and run it. Everytime I make a new install folder and click the batch file, I get that message from my PC on how the computer has stopped the file from running due to it being smarter than me and thinking I don't know what I'm doing (did I mention I really, really hate post XP Win OSs?). Wonder if I need to run it as Administrator (another hair pulling "feature" introduced post XP).

Going to try my Republic at War folder and see if it will work in there. You install it the same way as ICW (All the files go into the Mods folder save a launcher that goes in the Main Directory). I just tried it, and it ran fine. So I'm going to copy the Imperial_Civil_War225 folder into that Directory's Mods folder and put the batch file in it's Main Directory to see what it does. Maybe somewhere along the way my Vanilla Forces of Corruption Directory got broken. Those things tend to randomly happen.

Nope. That did not work either. Extracted the whole mod to the desktop in a ICW 2.25 folder. Then I copied the folder Imperial_Civil_War225 into my the Mods folder in my new copy of the Forces of Corruption folder. Then I copied the batch file into the Main Directory (where the exe is). Ran the batch file, CD spools up, screen goes to black to start the loading process, and the error occurs....... Does running the batch file change anything if it crashes? I really don't want to have to reinstall the entire game all over again just to see if that will work. I don't understand why every PC I ever own has these unique only to itself issues like this. I really do hate the new Windows OSs. Everything has gone downhill since XP. Never had any of these problems with my multiple XP machines. I'm just venting now, thanks for the response Corey! I wish I hadn't deleted my install of 2.2 in preparation of using 2.25 like I did. Atleast I could still be playing.

I assure you I am not not copying the mod files over the original Data folder. I double click the mod rar, then right click the folder that goes into the Mods folder. Then I select extract to specific folder. Then I select the copy, or renamed folder, and then select it's Mod folder. Then I unzip it. I do the same for the batch file but leave it in the Main directory (where the exe file is). I'm going to try extracting the entire mod rar on it's own, then copying the mod folder into the Mods folder. It will take forever doing it that way as the file is so large but I guess it is worth a shot. I remember I had this exact issue when 2.2 was released, but I have slept since then and forgotten how I fixed it then.

Did you try running it from the regular mods folder? It sounds like you're trying to install it over a copy of the base game's data folder, which could cause issues.

Out of frustration did a reboot. Still no joy. Therefore I have given up. It's already annoying enough that the devs are only patching the Steam version of the game and leaving us who bought it at release out in the cold, now this? I'll just place this game back up on the shelf.

I've now reinstalled it twice more with the same result. I'm going to attempt to redownload the mod to see if that solves it.

I just downloaded the 225 version of the mod. Just as I do with every mod for every game I play, I copy and paste the original folder, in this case Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption, create a copy. I then rename the copy to whatever mod it is, in this case TR ICW 2.25. I then place the batch file, which I have to tell my PC to "Run Anyway" after it stops running it for fear it will damage my machine. Once I have done that, then I can click on the batch file, which I then make a shortcut to the Desktop with, and the CD begins to spool up. The screen goes black going into the loading process and hangs immediately. I have to Alt-Tab out to see an Error Window saying an exception has occured giving me the option to retry, or cancel. Naturally both options crash the game.

I have installed and reinstalled multiple times now, and it doesn't seem to solve this issue. 2.2 Worked fine, and all other mods I have installed this way work fine. Can anyone help me?
