Generally simply, verifying the integrity of your game files through Steam will solve this issue straight away

OK. Reloaded both sins sessions here and works fine. It seems that after descycing with my friend I had to reboot my session to have it work again.

EDIT: Second multiplayer game no probs for two PCs here.

So now have to wait for my friend to reinstall tomorrow.

Ok just tried with my second PC again and worked fine... had left the second PC at the menu while I tried with my friend who had just rebooted.
I reload my second PCs sins game and BOOM... same error again. So this seems kinda random.

OK. Same error with my friend after he rebooted. Yet still works here with the two PCs I have in this room over the internet.
He will re-install the base game some time tomorrow if he gets time.

OK.... 3 multiplayer starts tested with no problems... very strange. Must have been a cache problem.

It was only the mod that had the problem. (unless I did not relaod the game after disabling the mod)

I am about to test with my friend now.. he just rebooted as well.

that is not helping much usually and all the directories that could cause errors are cleared...
Is the base sins have the same error or just the mod?
Just in case.

Just rebooted both PCs here. Mine had not been rebooted since the start of all this mucking around.
Seems to work again. Will load up another few times into a multi game to make sure.

Spoke too soon. Still crashing. But worked that once for some reason.
Crashing with 3 different computers as soon as it loads it desyncs. Not always on the same tick.

I disabled the mod on both computers here and applied but did not reboot and got the desync error under the normal game UNTIL I rebooted both sins sessions. Something strange going on there.
Any other directories I should clear? One last thing I have not done is reboot my PC entirely.

must have been a file like I said in your computer.
I'm glad it helped :)

OK. That worked.
Deleting the directory below (which had a bucketload of older patch directories in it as well as other rubbish) solved the problem. No descyc now.
C:\Users\yourPCname\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\

Thanks for your help guys. Hope this helps somebody else. I suspect maybe this mod refers to older patch directories that nothing is in? Who knows.
But I am now happy and can fix this problem when others in my group now try this. This mod seems excellent.

OK. So just to be sure. I just did it with my sons PC and mine (rather than my friend) in here and still a descync. He did not have any previous mods installed.
So may be something on my PC I guess. Unless it is just this mod.

Just deleted my ironclad games\sins of a solar empire directory
Will try with just that... thats everything clean now. Both install and profile directories.

Have you played this version of the mod multiplayer? Does it work for sure?
I really appreciate the advice by the way. Will try by cleaning steam cache and mod directory

EDIT: Juust cleared the cache and deleted all mods except this one from the 1.85 directory. My friend did the same.
1 file was redownloaded. About 20mb. I had tried the x4 mod and the prophets mod as well recently. However still a desync at 300.

So I redownloaded the game after uninstalling it and deleting the directory manually. (my friend has not though) and still the same desync.

Make sure that both of you have the same game and mod version to begin with.
If everything checks out, then you might need to check if there aren't any remainder files left from a previous mod in your main game folder. If there is any, delete them.
If nothing else works, try to reinstall the game and the mod.
If nothing works, then I have no idea.
